Mads Harrop is a singer-songwriter, composer and musician from the Waitaki Valley in North Otago, New Zealand. Her first song Contagious World written during lock down in 2020 went to number one on the New Zealand student radio Music Charts. Her Songs are joyous and poignant and have garnered a lot of critical acclaim. The Mads Harrop Band has supported international acts such as the Chats, Reb fountain, Ha the Unclear, and many others. Mads writes songs that are mostly about the challenges she faces, and ideas to do with Neurodiversity ( she has Asperger's , Anxiety and Tourette Syndrome}.

In between Gigs, work and play, Mads is an Hons Student at the University of Otago. An original song writer who strives for an authentic sound using analogue gear to highlight her love of vintage instruments, effects and of course, style. Mads was suddenly struck down with severe Tourette’s at 19 and her heroic battle to keep her life on track is inspirational. Her songs are often a testimony to her love of music and her commitment to overcome life’s hurdles. She is currently working on her first record, as part of her project for University this year. Enjoy! Kia Kaha :)

Powder Chutes are an emerging rock band from Wanaka combining riff-driven vintage grunt with snarling youthful exuberance.

Already stalwarts of the vibrant local live scene, Powder Chutes have been fermenting amongst Wanaka's rich creative melting pot of musicians, producers, DJs, artists, and athletes for a number of years, slowly building a following of their outstanding live shows.

Their debut EP, recorded at North Otago’s Studio Sublime, dropped in January 2022, has been streamed over 115,000 times to date, and been described as a joyful call to arms for anyone who likes pounding filthy rock, grounded in melodic sensibilities.

Powder Chutes supported The Feelers on their Communicate 21st Anniversary Tour, played with rock titans Pull Down The Sun at their recent Christchurch show, and are about to support international legends ZZ Top, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Stone Temple Pilots and The Angels at the Gibbston Summer Concert on Feb 11th.

The Chutes have been heavily involved in the bi-annual YAMI Sounz Summit, where they’ve recorded demos with Lee Prebble and Barnaby Weir, wigged out with Seamus Johnson from Sea Mouse, and joined icons on stage such as Troy Kingi, Delaney Davidson, Tiki Taane, Laughton Kora, Bella Kalolo, Deva Mahal, Shapeshifter, and Kings ,amongst others. Powder Chutes returned to Studio Sublime in Jan 2023 and new tunes are imminent. Sweet noise pollution... groove-fuelled grunge... Powder Chutes are electrifying, ambitious, and hungry.
